Step aside pumpkin spice, a new sweet fall beverage from an iconic Detroit brand is making its way to metro Detroit store shelves.
Detroit's beloved Faygo Beverages Inc., launched Jolly Green Apple, its newest pop flavor with a bright lime green color and fruity taste.
You may have gotten a sneak taste of Jolly Green Apple as it was unveiled with samples during Labor Day weekend's annual Arts, Beats & Eats festival.
At first taste, Faygo Jolly Green Apple has that classic lively and bubbly-ness — like its Redpop, but apple-scented. Its flavor is on the sweet side but that sweetness is rounded out with hints of a tangy and slightly tart apple flavor similar to green apple hard candies and licorice.Faygo's new Jolly Green Apple is caffeine-free and available in 20- and 24-ounce bottles, averaging 79 cents and $1.49, respectively. Jolly Green Apple joins Faygo's more than 50 distinctive pop flavors lineup.
"One of the best parts of our job is imagining and creating new and exciting flavors — and our team has created another unique and perfect flavor," Dan Trpevski, executive vice president of Faygo Beverages, said in a news release.
